LOGANLEA PICNIC GROUNDS

Public BBQ

Loganlea Picnic Grounds sits quietly beside a peaceful creek in Meadowbrook, where horses graze contentedly on the opposite bank. The park delivers exactly what its name promises - a proper spot for a family barbecue with well-maintained facilities including clean public toilets and plenty of picnic tables scattered throughout the grounds. What struck me most was how quickly the place bounced back to life after a passing storm. Within moments, families emerged with dogs in tow, cyclists returned to the paths, and children reclaimed the playground equipment. The park handles all ages comfortably, from toddlers exploring the dedicated play area to dog walkers making use of the lead-friendly walking tracks. The BBQ facilities are decent enough, and there's good parking plus public transport access for those without wheels. The creek-side setting provides a genuinely peaceful backdrop, though locals mention occasional unsavoury characters - police do patrol regularly, which seems to keep things manageable. It's the sort of reliable neighbourhood park that does its job without fuss.
